Room Dimensions: 22 X
18 This room is acoustically treated for sound absorption and
to reduce standing waves and room nodes. With the ABS type bass
traps and room bass traps built in to the corners of the room.The
drum set is a Ludwig maple set with 7 Ply wood shells. The bearing
edges were recut to give proper resonance and sustain of the
drum notes. We like 'em and they sound great. Please bring your
own pedals and cymbals so you can get the feel you need.

The main monitors are
Electro Voice MS-802's, they have a lot more bass response and
are generally warmer than Yamaha NS-10's. In this room they are
are an excellent match. The black ones are Yamaha NS-8's once
again a little warmer than they're NS-10 cousins and are three
way speaker enclosures. On top of the EV's you'll find some little
cube type automotive speakers these are really good to check
your mixes on as they simulate car speakers and boom boxes. In
the back you'll also find some IBM computer speakers - with the
computer age if you have a mix that's too bassy you'll find that
your computer listeners will complain. Check, check and re-check
your mixes!
The main board is a Carvin
MX1688 and we have yet to find a board on the market that we
want to replace it with. Okay so some will say - "You can't
record on that, it uses OP amps, you can't get that "Neve"
sound . Alrighty then, well Mr. Golden ears, tell me, what do
you think is in your CD player and your stereo in your car and
in your amplifier at home?! This Carvin has some of the finest
5532 OP Amps available (we know, we service it) with a high slew
rate and low distortion factor. Oh, and just a tip for the so
called "Gear Heads" Op amps are based on dicrete component
transistor circuit designs and feature a differential amplifier
input stage for noise cancellation and are compact without the
heat generation. You could cook a ham on some of the other consoles!
